There’s a saying that goes thus: “there’s no defined path to success.” With me, however, there are certain reoccurring traits successful people share that if incorporated, can go a long way to determine how successful an individual can be. In this article, I have taken the time to highlight six of these strategies to help you on your journey to becoming a billionaire CEO:
1. Read Up on Something Different
There’s no better way to experience the lives of others, other than reading. Reading gives you a sneak preview into the life of the author, and as an entrepreneur, getting that preview gives you a creative edge, where necessary. Also, when you read, you build up your empathy level, which is required to be an effective leader.
2. Your Comfort Zone Can Be a Death Zone
Sometimes, comfort can be deceptive, especially when the courage to try new things is missing. Building a billionaire career requires that you are always willing to make bold steps and get your hands muddy, time, and time again. For the billionaire, there’s no point of arrival; your destination is in the journey – in each obstacle you overcome.
3. Exercise Daily
Health is wealth (a cliché) albeit real to this day. A healthier body and mind lead to a more productive career and life in general. Example of billionaires who have successfully incorporated exercise into their daily routines includes Oprah Winfrey, Richard Branson. The key is to take it slow, do little bits of regular workouts, and you’ll be surprised at how significant the results can be.
4. Seeks Advice, There Are Other Smart People Out There
The people you associate with have a considerable influence in your life. You probably know this already (well, this is just a friendly reminder). On your journey to the top, you’ll meet several people. Be highly selective of the people you let within your inner circle. The hardest part is knowing what they’ve got that you don’t have, but once you’ve figured it out, it’s easy to understand why such people belong in your inner circle.
5. Competition is Useful
Never forget the people you’re in ‘bed’ with, because they won’t. As the bed isn’t always big enough, your competition keeps looking for ways to get more space. So, should you.
Your competition is a powerful source of motivation, and your haters should be an even more significant source. Let them push you to do everything in your power to succeed and prove them wrong.
6. Go Outside for a Minute
We understand how high the pressure and the urge to overcome each challenge can be; however, when you get too immersed in something, you tend to lose sight of the bigger picture. Take a moment, step outside, take a deep breath, meet new people, and you’ll be surprised how such steps add up to your overall success.
Don’t just take our word for it, research by the American Psychology Association reads thus “When there is a premium on generating new ideas in the workday, it should be beneficial to incorporate walks.” Try this steps today!
