Caroline Dennis: The Catalyst Behind Thriving Enterprises Driven by Purpose

Some years ago, Caroline Dennis walked Howard University with purpose as her mind wandered beyond her surroundings. Even then, in those early years, Caroline envisioned something greater—a calling yet to be fulfilled.   

Over two decades later, Caroline has brought that vision to life. As the founder of the Chayil Financial Group , five subsidiaries including Chayil Consulting LLC, and a non-profit, the NuJourney Foundation, Caroline now leads a diverse portfolio of companies and initiatives devoted to empowering individuals, guiding entrepreneurs, and strengthening communities. Through her leadership, she has created spaces where people can access the tools, education, and mentoring required to achieve financial independence and realize their dreams.   

Charting Her Own Course

Caroline’s journey has followed an unconventional path, guided by both passion and practicality. Though she laid the groundwork for her enterprise during her undergraduate years, she temporarily veered from this route after graduation. Spending years climbing the corporate ladder and gaining financial expertise. Caroline served in pivotal roles at some of the largest financial institutions in the industry.   

However, the traditional corporate sphere could not contain Caroline’s vision for long. The seed of inspiration planted back on Howard’s campus had taken root and was ready to blossom. After years in corporate America, Caroline stepped into the uncharted waters of entrepreneurship, finally manifesting her long-held desire to uplift communities.   

“I have worked in corporate America for quite some time and felt that my impact and influence were controlled aspects. I wanted to create something that would allow me to set my own limits and boundaries and use the best of my talents and gifts to give back to the communities that have blessed me over the years,” she shares.   

Caroline’s corporate finance background equipped her with the financial knowledge required to make this dream a reality. Furthermore, her project management expertise enabled her to chart the course and actualize her goals seamlessly. Though the terrain was unfamiliar, Caroline skillfully navigated the complexities of building not one organization—but an entire ecosystem of companies devoted to community empowerment.   

Investing in People and Possibility

Central to Caroline’s empowerment mission stands the Chayil Financial Group, LLC. The name “Chayil” holds deep personal meaning for Caroline, symbolizing the strength and perseverance of the phenomenal women who molded her into the leader she is today. “Chayil is a Hebrew word for ‘strong, powerful woman,” Caroline explains.   

Though inspired by her rich lineage of strong women, Chayil ultimately envisions a future brimming with promise and potential for all—regardless of ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. The company’s unique positioning as a blend of financial services, coaching, consulting, and community programs allows Caroline to holistically address intersecting needs.    

Through the Chayil umbrella, Caroline launched Chayil Consulting LLC , which provides a diverse range of services fostering personal and professional growth. Whether through financial mastery training, leadership development, or entrepreneurial strategy sessions, Chayil Consulting takes a tailored approach to empowering clients.   

Central to their offering are two premier coaching brands, Coaching with Caroline and Caroline’s Coaching Academy. Via inspiring yet practical online courses and materials, these services equip aspiring leaders and business owners with the mindsets, skills and support systems required for success.   

Specifically, Chayil Consulting aids small business owners through certification assistance, startup incubation and comprehensive business strategy development. “We’re devoted to empowering our clients to thrive, succeed, and achieve their utmost potential,” Caroline explains. Caroline’s ambition of empowering communities extends beyond the scope of traditional financial services and into the realm of philanthropy. In 2021, Caroline established the NuJourney Foundation , a 501(c)(3) non-profit seeking to champion financial literacy, foster entrepreneurship and promote economic mobility.   

Through NuJourney’s ECKO, BOSS, Jr. Boss, DRIVE and SCOPE initiatives, the organization proactively engages youth, college students, budding entrepreneurs and small business owners through financial bootcamps, workshops, mentoring programs and more.   

By directly serving disadvantaged communities and infusing knowledge, training and resources, the NuJourney Foundation actualizes Caroline’s vision of possibility. Within every person lies untapped potential. With access to education and support, individuals gain the power to transform their financial futures and uplift their communities.

Among Caroline’s talents as a leader, she evolved as an author, which allows her to motivate others in an impactful yet accessible way. Her recently published book “ Take the Journey: The Powerful Steps to Owning Your Story ” encapsulates this ability. Crafted from personal journal entries, the book chronicles Caroline’s own perseverance through adversity. By courageously owning all aspects of her story, failures alongside triumphs, she extends inspiration rooted in shared humanity. Through this book, she has garnered two impressive book awards.
