Daniela Gattel: Recreating Health and Wellness

Italian-born Daniela Gattel is the founder of a wellness coaching company called The Unbounded Woman. From an overweight woman to a fitness Guru, Daniela has come a long way. She is known for her unique approach to women's health and wellness. Her unconventional approach to improving the health and wellness of women has left many puzzled and many more excited and magnetized.⁣

For Daniela, being a Health and wellness coach entails providing a balanced approach to deep health where both body and mind are synchronized. Daniela has a bachelor's degree in Nutrition Science and a master's degree in Psychology. She is also a National Board-certified health and wellness coach. Although the certification is the highest recognition in health and wellness, for Daniela, the profession is only about "the art of helping a client in the process of change.” Her only goal is to help women worldwide enhance their health so that they become their fullest, freest, most significant selves.

Daniela's unique coaching methods have taken the world by storm.⁣ Her secret is coaching women on how to thrive in all areas of life. She helps women around the world see health from a broader perspective. She inspires them to change their approach to fitness and, while doing so, enjoy the fullness of deep health.

The Journey

Following a health scare in which she collapsed in the middle of Union Square in New York City, Daniela became obsessed with health and fitness. The path to overcoming obesity led her on another journey. She went back to school and completed a bachelor's degree in Nutrition Science. Then, she studied psychology and learned the nuances of human behavior. Eventually, with all the learned and personal experience, she found that the body is a gateway to thriving in all areas of life. Now, with all the accumulated personal and learned experience, she helps the women around the world get fit in such a manner that the growth is long-term and in sync with their minds and inner selves. She has clients in the United States, Middle East, Asia, Europe, and all around the world.

The Unbounded Woman

In The Unbounded Woman, Daniela promotes a concept wherein she emphasizes that women should thrive in all areas of life, not just physically, “because the physical aspect (the nutrition and the movement) is just sixteen percent of what makes a woman a thriving woman.”

Daniela believes that women have the power to inspire and change the world. "I feel, and I really believe," Daniela says, “that as women, we can truly change the world.”

The concept behind The Unbounded Woman is that kind of a woman who has no boundaries and has limitless capabilities. The inspiration of The Unbounded Woman is a woman who knows that at one point, she needs to hold and recalibrate the way she thinks; A woman who knows that she needs to navigate what is and what truly means to be healthy.

Daniela has two daughters and is a firm believer in the power of womanhood.

Strengthening the Strong Areas

Since The Unbounded Woman is a coaching company, Daniela helps the women explore their areas of growth. She invites them to find where they can potentially blossom and thrive. "It doesn't help to be an Unbounded Woman and go and get a meal plan; it doesn't work that way. You would be very disappointed if you expected that...I do not recommend food; coaching is about developing strength," Daniela comments.

If women can juggle work, responsibilities of family, and children, it means that they can cut some time for health and fitness as well. Since its inception in 2017, Daniela and her team at The Unbounded Woman have helped women turn superficial physical goals into life gold.

False Hope Syndrome

According to Daniela, the health and wellness industry uses marketing gimmicks to lure people into getting fitness regimens and buying wellness products. The false hope eventually leads them to disappointment and disarray. They begin to assume that getting fit is not their piece of cake and therefore continue the previous lifestyle.

Daniela is of the opinion that a fitness regimen must be aligned with your vibes; it must be aligned with who you are and what you do every day.

Pertinently, Daniela has distanced herself from the mainstream methods of the health and wellness industry. She has devised long-lasting ways to achieve wellness and health. "Women diet at least five times a year, but the problem is long-term results. When you are healthy and strong, life is different; life smiles at you every day," Daniela adds.

Converse with Self

Daniela knows what it means to be unhealthy. Due to her obesity, she has experienced how it feels to be stuck between a rock and a hard place.

"I experienced myself being unhealthy; overweight due to extreme depression...I had hit rock bottom.  But then, I told myself that I am really meant to be more! So, I decided to take care of myself; rediscover myself; bring myself back to the path of health. And then, when I did, I decided to help others." Daniela says.

Daniela believes having an inner conversation is imperative for attaining total wellness. She speaks of this from the perspective of a person who has experienced both a healthy and unhealthy lifestyle, to a point where she understood the difference between the two and decided whether she wanted to be healthy or unhealthy.

Daniela advises health enthusiasts to look for inspiration within. A person's motivation for fitness should not come from outer sources like written material or by watching her friends hitting the gym every day; it should come from within.

It is possible that there is a disconnect between who you are and what you want. Because if there is, you will never reach your fitness goals. Have an honest conversation with yourselves, she suggests, because It's important that your outer body has a good healthy relationship with your inner self.

Daniela asks the fitness enthusiasts to introspect because if you have been following a health regimen and haven't truly improved, she asks them to get to the bottom of why they really want to do things? It will lead them to what is important and what they value.

Detach from Outcome

Pressure doesn't allow us to gain from our health regimen. It can be the competition with our fellow gym mates, expectations from our fitness goals, and our idea of what it means to be fit. You need to enjoy the whole process.

This perception we feel that I am not made for it, or this is not the right place for me, lowers the resolve; slows down the progress. That might happen because you may be in an environment that is not suitable for you. Therefore, detaching from the outcome will help a woman relax and enjoy the process.

Find the Trigger

There are many things that lead a person to obesity—one of them is the emotional overeating disorder. In the emotional overeating disorder, people, knowingly or unknowingly, turn to food for comfort. According to Daniela, a woman needs to find the trigger that leads her to it. For Daniela, fitness is about addressing deeper problems.

Food is a Friend

Daniela's high-level coaching is for those women who desire to become friends with their bodies and end the battle with food.

She asks women not to distance themselves from food. The right food at the right time is a friend. There is no food that is bad food unless you are sensitive to some type of food.

“Eat what you feel like eating,” Daniela says, “Because how would life be without a piece of cake...Awful!”

What Next

Daniela wishes to continue doing what she does. She understands that after 2020, health has become a priority for not only women but probably 80 percent of the global population.

She plans to continue imparting her learning to the women of the world and help them transform their physical goals into life goals because, hey! Freedom, joy, health, and love—what else does a person need!
