Jen Rivera: Reigniting Lives

Jen Rivera: Reigniting Lives

All of us have faced such situations in life where we are clueless. This is where a life coach comes in. From motivating you to helping you reach your full potential; a life coach can help in the personal as well as professional aspects of your life. A certified life coach and the owner of Live Reignited, Jen Rivera is helping people become better versions of themselves.

The Big Shift

Jen took on a lot of personal responsibilities early on in life which taught her to become independent and developed the hunger to succeed in life. Her passion for helping people made her choose a career that would allow her to make a difference. She initially pursued a teaching degree, but her desire to own a business prompted her to do an MBA. In the meantime, she started working as a Digital Marketing Specialist and fell in love with marketing. After obtaining her degree, she took up a management role and has worked for several startups, agencies, and large organizations over the years.

However, at the end of her 10-year-long career, she not only felt burned out but also unappreciated and unfulfilled. Her aim to make a positive change in the world never transpired. Throughout her career, she coached, mentored, and trained several women. Once she realized this was her calling, she left her career in marketing, became a Certified Professional Life Coach, and started her own business.

Live Reignited

Apart from providing various services, her company – Live Reignited - offers a lot of free content. There is also her private Facebook community – Women Reignited, where women are encouraged to identify their passions. Apart from that, there are three types of paid services – coaching, branding, and events. She offers one-on-one as well as group coaching. If an individual needs branding to find a new career or a small business owner is looking to brand their business, Live Reignited can help. Jen is also planning to launch the Reignited Academy next year, offering several online courses for personal and professional growth.

Jen feels that it was a combination of counseling, prayer, and journaling that helped her overcome her trauma. While trauma is common to everyone, she says that healing does not happen overnight. Hence, one must be consistent in their efforts.

Pillars of Success

Speaking about the four pillars of her business - Faith, Fire, Career, and Passion - Jen says that these were the areas that she faced hurdles with throughout her life. While she struggled with faith initially, incorporating Bible study and prayer changed her perspective on life. Fire represents personal growth and development for her. While she may have lacked self-worth and self-esteem earlier, once she embraced her faults and focused on improving her mindset, she gained confidence and became the best version of herself.

Speaking about career, she says that nearly every woman struggles to find one she likes. This is one reason why branding is so important: it has helped advance her career. Finally, she struggled with passion as a mother, wife, and career woman. For a while, she had no idea about the things she was passionate about. This also made her lose her own identity. However, upon deciding to take a step back, she found her passion which also helped in reigniting the fire in her life.

Reignited Podcast

With Reignited Podcast, she hopes to inspire other women by talking about Faith, Fire, Career, and Passion. She feels that a number of women struggle in the same areas, hence this podcast can provide a safe place where they can share their stories. Apart from being conversational, it is also educational as it imparts advice on how to apply certain principles in their lives that would help reignite those areas.

Road Ahead

When asked about her biggest challenge, she says it was, as she likes to call it, being a one-woman show. However, establishing systems and organization across her business later made her work much simpler. As a coach/mentor, her biggest challenge was to ensure that her clients were consistent with the principles they were applying in their lives. That is why she provides her clients with tools, resources, and accountability that help them stay on track and become successful.

Finally, for all future businesswomen, Jen’s advice is  to be confident in your experience and ability, to stay consistent in whatever business endeavors you’re pursuing, and to have a system or systems in place to keep you on track
