Tevis Nic'Cole Haynie: Nurturing Brighter Futures Through ECE Coaching

Life is all about moving ahead, personally and professionally, and you do not want to stay in the same place. Navigating challenges, obstacles, self-esteem issues, and finding it difficult to make decisions can be daunting. You may feel like you are stuck in a rut when it comes to the job that you are doing and want to experience growth. Educators have a bigger task at hand of nurturing and molding the lives of students; hence they need to be at the top of their game. A performance coach can guide you towards finding that passion in life, getting clarity about your goals, and working through any emotional issues or negative beliefs you may have about yourself to build your confidence. Tevis Nic'Cole Haynie, the founder of SiveT Empowerment , LLC , guides educators on the path of personal growth, instilling self-confidence and self-worth to experience peak career performance.

Empower Through Action

Born in New Mexico, Tevis holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a minor in Biology along with two master's degrees, one from Capella University in Human Behaviors/Services and the other from Lipscomb University in Organizational Leadership, where she also received two certifications in Professional Coaching and Global Leadership. Although she wanted to be a Pediatric Oncologist, she always had a deep desire to help, empower, train, teach, and coach others. When COVID-19 hit, she decided to leverage her education and start coaching. Her strengths include early childhood education, leadership, and organizational development. Her mission was to empower educators and make them more confident by encouraging them to be career-focused and driven, which would, in turn, empower students.

Maximizing Overall Potential

Tevis was always skeptical of starting her own business due to the financial implications that come with it, but the passion for making a difference in people's lives through life coaching gave her that much-needed nudge, and she founded SiveT (her name spelled backward) Empowerment, LLC in 2020. The company primarily provides knowledge about early childhood education through motivational speaking , professional business and life coaching, consulting, and training. Tevis understands the impact that early education has on the lives of children and believes that equipping educators and guardians with the necessary tools will make educational institutes function better in addition to nurturing the students.

Tevis honors the fact that every client is an expert in his/her own life, hence, her coaching services focus on partnering with them in a thought-provoking and creative manner. This inspires and encourages them to maximize their personal and professional potential, which is essential to keep growing as an individual and a worker and fosters a solid student/educator bond that creates a positive atmosphere of continued learning. Besides educators, Tevis also helps develop and implement long-term and short-term plans for diverse learners to improve, grow, and enhance their understanding of topics that need to be worked upon.

Open Minds

Tevis currently serves as the Membership Chair of the local NAAEYC, Mentor for the TN Educators of Color Fellowship, At Large Member for Child Care Licensing Board of Review, and a representative for the Star Quality Advisory Council Representative of Child Care Centers of Middle TN. She has also spoken to ECE classes at Nashville State Community College and Tennessee State University and trained directors/owners in the process of starting ECE programs.

There is a quote by Malcolm X that Tevis stands by: "Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today." As a single mother to a 15-year-old girl, she believes that women need to empower and support each other to create a healthy and powerful community. For women who want to get into entrepreneurship, Tevis advises them to have a growth mindset and seek help when needed. "Plan your work and work your plan. If you have a dream and a vision, nurture it. The advice that you give your peers, or your children use it for yourself. It is not going to be easy, and there will be lots of challenges thrown your way. But it is not impossible, and you can do it with a growth mindset and always moving forward," Tevis added.
