Building a business is crucial for every early-stage business owner. Many startups use personal assets in a bid to conserve cash, but that could prove detrimental for the business in the long run. Although a money crunch is often experienced during the initial stages, a small business owner's goal should be to increase sales and build business credit. As a creditworthy business, the company can attract financing at competitive rates and gain market advantages . Trenisha Marie-Webster, credit consultant, author, and founder of T-Marie Innovations, LLC, has been helping small business owners with their financial needs and marketing strategies.
Building from Scratch
A resident of De Moines, Iowa, Trenisha has an MBA in Human Resources Management and Personnel Administration from Purdue Global University. Around 2016, Trenisha witnessed a lot of fluctuations in the employment market. She was gripped by the fear of uncertainty, and her personal financial struggles made her almost give up. But her children acted as her biggest supporters and urged her to keep going. Trenisha is also a certified credit repair specialist, certified credit consultant, and a certified credit score consultant. In 2016, Trenisha started her own venture, T-Marie Innovations, LLC, and was hired full-time into corporate America. Her background in business management gave her the much-needed impetus, and she leveraged her knowledge to help brands and businesses scale or rebuild from scratch.
All-in-One Consultation
With T-Marie Innovations, LLC, Trenisha helps businesses increase their credit and , subsequently, their financial health over time. She also works with clients who have taken up her service to improve their personal credit alongside their business credit line. While some companies build brands, most lack knowledge on scaling up small businesses from the development stages . T-Marie Innovations fills that gap and provides a detailed consultation, creates a step-by-step program, researches any information pertaining to the career path, and provides an excellent experience to make your business thrive and improve entrepreneur ial goals. Besides business development, some of the other services that the company offers are marketing materials (including business cards, tri-fold brochures, postcards, and flyers), certified professional resume packages, notary services, tax preparation, resume design, and credit improvement services.
Giving Back
Trenisha’s mantra in life is “Live and Breathe Easy”. As someone who has a history of anxiety, she has been working on taking it easy so that she can focus on her work and help others. She lives each day like it is her last and strives to keep her stress levels down. In 2020, Trenisha wrote her first educational book called 'Building Business Credit for Small Business' besides producing three other eBooks. One of her eBooks, 'From 300 to 850', enumerates five steps that help in increasing credit score. In 2019, she developed her podcast , which discusses current events, reviews of movies and TV shows, and personal experiences. Trenisha believes in the concept of helping others and wants to host seminars and webinars to give back to the community and teach people how to build their own busines se s. She hosts a polish event to raise money for Lung Cancer, a cause very close to her, besides being the past Chair of Communications with the organization ‘Investing in My Future', and volunteering for numerous events.
Trenisha asks clients for at least six months to turn around their credit scores and work through keeping their career motivation intact as patience is key. Although Trenisha has been in business for almost six years now, she still revamps it every year to stay aligned with the times. As a word of advice to women who want to venture out on their own, Trenisha suggests they prepare a blueprint first. “Make an outline of whatever you are going to do, whether you want to have a website or a social media account. This would help you focus on your goals and chart the right path to move forward. Also, give yourself the first year to figure out how to run your business. Work towards your goals with patience,” Trenisha said, while speaking with WomLEAD Magazine.
